On February 22, 2011, at 12:51pm, the city of Christchurch, New Zealand, was struck by a 6.3 magnitude earthquake. According to the latest news reports, 103 have been confirmed dead and approximately 228 are listed as still missing. Asscherick, a Seventh-day Adventist evangelist, was in Christchurch presenting a Bible prophecy seminar and shares his first-hand account of the earthquake and its devastation in an article. He wrote: “It looked and felt like a scene straight out of the Second Coming.”
