It was Sabbath, September 5, 2009, and a new family lingered after the service for the weekly potluck meal at the Barstow SDA Church. They were very friendly and shared how they recently moved to the area. As I spoke with them, I discovered that the woman, Lila Cervantes, had a passion and God-given talent for music and was in the middle of producing her debut album. When I got home that afternoon, I rushed to my laptop to look up some of her songs on Rhapsody.com, and I was immediately touched.

The combination of Lila’s beautiful voice and the amazing compositions of Brenda Lane is like walking on the beach at sunset with the waves gently lapping your feet and then, suddenly, a powerful wave crashes into you, drenching you from head to toe, yet you find yourself laughing.

Lila Cervantes Debut CD - I Can See - Now Available!I am pleased to announce that Lila Cervantes’s debut album, I Can See, is now available! Visit her website www.LilaCervantes.com to hear clips and purchase your copy the CD. To hear six of the songs (full songs for free) to go www.Rhapsody.com and search for Lila Cervantes.

My personal favorite is… No Name Like the Name of Jesus. No, it’s I Can See, Song of Solomon I’ll Love You Everyday, Listen to the Wind, or… Okay, I cannot even pick a favorite! In October, Lila Cervantes performed the song Under the Eye of Adonai live at Barstow SDA Church, and she is even more amazing live!

On her website, Lila wrote:

I pray that this CD will be an inspiration to you. That it will give you hope in knowing that you are loved. I pray that God will take your hand and comfort you in whatever you may be going through. I pray that you too will take a step forward and believe in the plans He has for you.

“For with God nothing will be impossible.” Luke 1:37

I, too, hope that you will find the powerful music a touching message – a love letter – from the Lord Who loves you.
